About Mr. Edwards
Rory T. Edwards, President of Edwards Educational Consulting, LLC, has conducted numerous workshops, lectures, and keynote addresses on curriculum content and educational strategies for promoting academic success and increased achievement of students in schools and communities.
Mr. Edwards has worked with schools and communities in Connecticut; New Jersey; Michigan; Pennsylvania; North Carolina; Alabama; Washington, D.C.; Arkansas; Georgia; Texas; and Africa. He has created targeted professional development guidelines designed to implement proven methodologies and solutions which increase the academic and social advancement of students, schools, and communities which focus on personal responsibility, self-respect, and values.
Among Mr. Edwards’ accomplishments is the significant role he played in the success of Amistad Academy, which has been recognized and praised by the U.S. Secretary of Education as “a national model for urban education.” Achievement First Schools President, Dacia Toll, credits Mr. Edwards with “creating a school culture that is unambiguously positive, disciplined, and achievement-oriented.”
Mr. Edwards is a highly regarded educator, activist, and community leader. He has served as President of the New Britain, Connecticut Branch of the N.A.A.C.P. from 1996–2005.
Mr. Edwards also founded and continues to be a consultant for the successful weekend academy for minority boys called “Once a Man, Twice a Child.”
